OUR STORIES CAN Save us or keep us stuck

So, what is the story you’re telling yourself?

Do you feel like you keep getting it wrong in love and life? Are you feeling stuck? Not quite the person that you know you can be? Or maybe you are struggling with repeated patterns or symptoms that seem to be taking over your ability to be happy or in love. Perhaps it’s time to look at your story, what you are holding onto, and what you just might need to let go of.

Maybe it’s time to tell a new story, and live the life you know you could, and I’d love to help.

Who I See and How I Work

West Counseling is the private psychotherapy practice of Sarah Fawcett, MA, LPC, in Portland, Oregon. I specialize in helping adults and teens who are struggling with anxiety, grief, trauma, or relationship challenges get to the root of their issues so that they can move on from the past, understand themselves more completely, and learn to turn up the volume on their own life and feel better for good.

I am currently accepting new clients in-person at my office in SE Portland, Oregon, or via telehealth.
See below for more information about the kind of work we can do together.

Adult
Individual Therapy

People seek therapy for many different reasons, some of which might be grief or loss, depression, anxiety, or just a need for general support. Regardless of what brought you here, I’d love to help.

Teen
Individual Therapy

I support teens with a variety of struggles. Top of the list is anxiety and stress. Being a young person in this world is no easy feat. And I love being a part of that complex journey.

Parent/Caregiver Support

It can be hard to know how to handle some of the more difficult stages of raising our own kids, especially if our own upbringing wasn’t ideal. I provide psychoeducation and therapeutic support.

ARTIST, DESIGNER, MOTHER, PSYCHOTHERAPIST

Sarah Fawcett, LPC

I am perpetually fascinated by people and look for the “why” behind behavior in every field I have worked in. My psychotherapy practice prioritizes creating a safe space to explore that “why”– what lies beneath the symptoms that clients may initially report. I believe that our symptoms (anxiety, depression, etc.) are the outward manifestations of our inner wounds. Those symptoms are cues to where the “work” can begin.

I work with teens and adults. I am as passionate about helping adults understand how their childhoods affect their current patterns and behaviors as I am about supporting adolescents along their often complex journey to adulthood. With roots in attachment theory, developmental and depth psychology, I utilize parts work and Jungian theory to help clients compassionately look within, understand the “why,” integrate, and move forward.

I received my MA in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in 2023. Before graduation, I completed a 20-month practicum at Rivers Way Community Counseling Clinic in Portland, Oregon, and am now seeing clients as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC #C10239) at my private practice in SE Portland. In addition to my psychotherapy practice, I am a mother of three, an artist for fun, and I continue to dabble in my work as a branding strategist and designer.
